Shit. OK, so it still has good production, but the vocals are weak and can't they write a song about something a bit more cheery now and again. Never been the same since the lead singer disappeared.

Alex Gopher returns with his second album but with a new name and a mate called Demon. This is all very French and cluby. I think it needs more vox. Oh Alex how I long for another 'Party People' - it had words and everything! However, this does come on a very funky disc that's black on both sides, like some games.

This collective, that spawned Outkast, have made a very respectable debut. This is premium hiphop with a raw edge. Amazing vocals and fresh production - this album sits nicely between Stankonia and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Here's hoping we have a follow up soon as i've been waiting a frickin' age for Idlewild, the sixth LP from Outkast!

The new LP should be here by the end of March, but we're nearly there, so I hope the guys do it! Read the blog at lofidelityallstars.co.uk for the latest. It's funny as fuck as Phil rips it out the bands in the mass media at the moment. Also, he mentions the fact that Indian Ropeman has produced a new track! Here's hoping a new album is on the way.

This is a collection of remixed tracks previously available through Daft Punk's web site club. Hence the name. The first half is very loopy and choppy, but there's still quite a few good attempts. It gets very interesting towards the end with some less electronic interpretations and an excellent Slum Village song built on the backbone of Aerodynamic.

Originally uploaded by stemflickr.

An excellent precursor to his debut album Fish Outta Water, Fish Market is a mix tape of funky hiphop songs mostly featuring Chali. I have to say this shit is fresh! The tracks have been compiled by Mr 2na himself but the mix is performed by the relatively unknown DJ Dez who keeps it simple but professional. If you're a J5 fan you won't be disappointed, hiphop gold lies here.

This mix from DJ Yoda and Dan Greenpeace is cool enough. In places it's funny and kinda crazee too, like the funky breakzy Emmerdale theme tune remix. However it can get a bit rap hardcore in places, IE boring. Worth it if you've got the cash.

Also it comes with an excellent DVD with live performances, music videos and an interview with the dude himself.

Not so good. OK, so it's definitely the best one they've knocked up so far. All the right sounds are there they just seem out of place and all choppy. Some nice vocals too, but a bit quiet, especially Roots Manuva. Maybe they should do a remix album with peeps who can arrange their lovely sound mirrors as they seem to place it all wrong on their own.

Their first single with the same name is released on 3rd of April. It's an odd but catchy offering - here's hoping the album arrives shortly.

Hip hop from the year 3030. This album has a few good songs and a few more if you're a hardcore hip hop fan. An interesting experiment but it could be a lot more listenable. This album does have some weird song titles and a very odd appearance from Damon Albarn. I doubt we'll be listening to this in 3030 but it's worth a listen now.

This Japanese import is a collection of interesting remixes from Shadow's 3rd album. Although many of the mixes aren't that special, the few that are make this a worth while purchase. It's a shame that not all songs from The Private Press are tackled as on most remix albums. If you're new to DJ Shadow get Endtroducing... instead. If you're already a fan get this only if you must collect every part of the story.
